Status labels on the ACRA register
| Status | What it shows |
|---|---|

| Gazetted to be Struck Off | ACRA has published a First Gazette notice, for applications made on or after 20 October 2026 1 |
| Struck Off | Removed from ACRA's register after the Final Gazette, and no longer legally exists 1 |

The striking off timeline from 20 October 2026
- Application: filed on Bizfile, free, approved immediately or within 14 days if director endorsement is needed 1.
- Lapse risk: the application lapses if all or most directors do not endorse it within 14 days 1.
- First Gazette: ACRA sends notices to the registered office and officers, publishes the name, and the status becomes Gazetted to be Struck Off 1.
- Objections: officers and interested parties have 60 days from the First Gazette notice 1. If an objection is accepted, the company has two months to resolve it or the process lapses 1.
- Final Gazette: the company is struck off on the stated date and time, and the status becomes Struck Off 1.
Applications made before 20 October 2026
For older applications, ACRA first sends a striking off letter, and the entity stays Live during this period 1. Officers have 30 days from that letter to object 1. If no objection is made, ACRA publishes the First Gazette notification within 30 days of approval, followed by a 60-day waiting period 1. The process takes at least three months after approval 1.
So two companies at a similar point in the process can show different statuses, depending on when they applied. Check the application date before reading a Live status as a sign that nothing is happening.
Who can apply and the criteria
ACRA may approve an application if it believes the company is not carrying on business and meets the criteria 1. The company must have stopped trading or never started, have no unpaid debts with any government agency, no charges in the charge register, no legal cases in Singapore or overseas, and no pending regulatory action 1. It must own nothing and owe nothing, and all or a majority of directors must agree 1. ACRA warns that applying without meeting these criteria can be a false declaration and lead to an investigation 1.
On dissolution, any tax credits pass to the Insolvency and Public Trustee's Office 1.
Winding up is a different route
A company can close by winding up instead, under the Companies Act 1967 or the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act 2018 3. Each route needs a liquidator or provisional liquidator, and notices filed with ACRA 3.
| Route | When it applies |
|---|---|
| Members' or partners' voluntary winding up | Directors believe the company can pay all debts within 12 months 3 |
| Simplified Winding Up Programme | A micro company (revenue under $1 million) or small company (under $10 million) that cannot pay its debts 3 |
| Creditors' voluntary winding up | Directors believe the company cannot continue in business due to its debts 3 |
| Court-ordered compulsory winding up | The Court orders it, for example where the company cannot pay its debts 3 |
Where to check
ACRA publishes lists of entities to be struck off (First Gazette), entities struck off (Final Gazette), withdrawals, restorations and revocation notices 4. The Final Gazette lists for 2026 are issued in roughly half-month batches for companies, LLPs and variable capital companies 2. On 2 November 2026 the latest company list covered 1 to 15 October 2026 2.
Business Profiles and certificates are sold through Bizfile, and some information is free for eligible users 5.
